A Former New Jersey beauty pageant contestant and her mother were two of three suspects arrested in a counterfeit money-making plot, MyFOXPhilly.com reported.
Ashley Fuhrmeister, who was Miss North Wildwood in 2007, was arrested Friday and accused of using fake $50 bills at two stores, according to MyFOXPhilly.com. Police said that Fuhrmeister and her 44-year-old mother, Kelly A. Nowacky, made the phony cash.
A third person, John Laughlin, was also arrested in the alleged scheme. Both he and Nowacky were sent to a local jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, MyFOXPhilly reported. Fuhrmeister, 21, was released on her own recognizance.
