Chinese doctors found a football-sized, 33-pound tumor after cutting open a woman who had been complaining of abdominal pain, according to a report from Reuters.
Citing Thursday's Beijing Times, Reuters said surgeons at the Beijing's Chaoyang Dongba hospital spent 30 minutes removing the tumor from 21-year-old Xiao Wen's abdomen. It measured 16 inches by 12 inches and is thought to be benign.
One surgeon said he had not seen a tumor that large in 20 years of medicine. He went on to say that the woman was lucky doctors found the tumor before it spontaneously burst.
