Porn Star on Trial for Alleged Sorority House Rape

The trial of an amateur adult film actor accused of raping a woman at a Washington State University sorority began Tuesday.

Christopher Jack Reid, who made porn films under the name Jack Venice, is charged with rape and burglary in the attack in September of last year on a woman sleeping at the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority house.

"He told many many people that he was a porn star in town visiting," prosecutor Denis Tracy said, adding Reid allegedly told patrons of a local bar that the night of the attack he was "looking for women to have sex with me."

The alleged victim in the case identified Reid in court Tuesday. "When I looked over and saw his face, that face is something that I can't forget."

But Reid's attorney, Chris Bugbee, said that his client has been made a "scapegoat" in the case.

"He's a darn good scapegoat," Bugbee said. The defense alleges that another man committed the rape. That man, Kyle Schott, is expected to testify against Reid.

The trial is expected to last through Friday.

If convicted, Reid could spend the rest of his life in prison.
