Published January 14, 2015

Associated Press

A 10-year-old boy reported missing from his residence near Memphis was found safe in a nearby park Wednesday morning, after a statewide Amber alert had been issued.

Police in the Memphis suburb of Collierville said the parents of Hunter Wade Craig reported that he went missing overnight between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. CST.

"His parents woke up this morning and he was missing," said Jennifer Johnson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation .

She said authorities believe the child could be in physical danger since there is no evidence he ran away and no reason for him to have left his residence.

"We do believe this is a legitimate case of a child who is missing. We need the public's help," Johnson said.

The youngster was described as a 4-foot-11 white boy weighing about 90 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. He was reported to be wearing a green T-shirt with black and orange shorts.
