K-19: The Widowmaker, Like Mike and Stuart Little 2 in The Foxlight.
Harrison Ford is doing Boris Badenov with the emphasis on the bad part in this Kathryn Bigelow flick K-19: The Widowmaker. This is yet another submarine movie that sank at the box office and may not surface much more successfully on video and DVD. It's really more of a yawn maker, and Ford's accent is dumb-ski. If it matters, Liam Neeson steals the movie.
Like Mike, also newly out on DVD and video, may amuse some. It really is in the shoes in this tale of a magic pair of sneakers starring Lil' Bow Wow. But imagine my disappointment when the studio sent me a shoebox with just a pair of shoelaces in it. Apparently, "shoestring" also describes the promotional budget.
Finally, Stuart Little 2 was a noisy, joyless and very expensive follow-up to a mediocre first film. Anyone got a mousetrap? It's not based on a true story although there are plenty of annoying rodents in Central Park. They just don't have little planes.
