German authorities overpowered a knife-wielding man who was holding another man hostage in Berlin's main rail station, the Berlin Morning Post reported Wednesday.
According to the report the assailant, who appeared to be "mentally confused" and was possibly under the influence of drugs, held a waiter at a train station restaurant hostage for more than two hours. Armed police overtook the man and freed the hostage, the paper reported.

According to the report, the incident occurred at a cafe in a mall inside the terminal. Customers who witnessed the attack called police on their cell phones while fleeing the area. No one was hurt during the incident.
