Tibetan activists say new protests have broken out in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa.
Kate Saunders of the International Campaign for Tibet says a protest at the Rampoche monastery Saturday grew to involve many people. Saunders said people in the city had reported fighting there. She did not give details.

The Dalai Lama's government-in-exile reported on its Web site that people also protested at the Jokhang Temple, a major Buddhist site in Lhasa. The India-based government gave no other details and the reports could not be independently confirmed.
