Published January 13, 2015

The Shop at Home cable network is serving up chef Emeril Lagasse (search) with a menu of prime-time specials and a weekly series.

The star of the Food Network's top-rated show "Emeril Live" will get a chance to demonstrate his recipes and tout his utensils on Shop at Home's new "From Emeril's Kitchen." (search) Both cable networks are owned by Scripps Networks, the Knoxville-based subsidiary of E.W. Scripps Co.

"This was the vision from the beginning," said Judy Girard, who headed Food Network (search) before becoming president last year of the Nashville-based shopping channel.

"Our lifestyle brands have such passionate audiences, people who strongly identify with everything related to home and food, and no one has a more loyal following than Emeril," she said recently.

Lagasse's first live special will premiere in July, with two more slated for September and November. The weekly show will be hosted by chefs trained by Lagasse, and he will make taped appearances from his New Orleans test kitchen and from his studio kitchen at the Food Network.

"We're going to make it fun and easy," Lagasse said. "All anyone has to do is watch and shop."

Shop at Home, which Scripps acquired in 2002, reaches about 53 million households.
