A drunken driver crashed through a fence at a small airport and drove onto a runway before getting stuck atop electrical equipment, authorities said.
No planes were taking off or landing at Grand Junction Regional Airport when the crash occurred early Monday, the Transportation Security Administration said.
Jamie L. Bowden was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and other counts, police said. No phone number could be found for her, and it wasn't known whether she had an attorney.
Her car went off a road, came "barreling through the fence and just kept on going," said airport manager Rex Tippett.
Authorities in Grand Junction, about 190 miles west of Denver, are investigating, said TSA spokesman Sterling Payne.
