The Florida Highway Patrol says two men died in a crash with an ambulance.

Killed in the crash were two 27-year-olds: Justin L. Corey of Beverly Hills, Calif., and Ryan S. Doyle of Danielson, Conn.

The crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday north of Dunnellon in north Florida. Troopers on the scene reported that it appeared the driver of the Honda Civic CRX failed to stop in time at a stop sign and collided with the ambulance.

The ambulance workers tried to tend to the two men in the car but pronounced them dead at the scene.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash, but at the time of the accident heavy fog was reported.

No one in the ambulance was injured and no patient was in the ambulance at the time of the crash.
