British Woman Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault at Nursery

A 32-year-old woman has been arrested by detectives investigating an alleged sexual assault on a child at a nursery. U.K. police in West Yorkshire said the woman, from Leeds, U.K., was arrested on Friday by officers investigating an incident at an unnamed center in the south of the city.

A force spokeswoman said the woman was released on bail pending further inquiries.

"West Yorkshire Police's Child and Public Protection Unit is carrying out an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a child at a nursery in south Leeds," said a statement from the police.

"A 32-year-old woman from Leeds was arrested last Friday and has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries."

The police investigation is understood to be at an early stage but officers are believed to be treating it as an isolated incident.
