Armed Robbers Burst Into Gated Community Home in California, 3 Arrested

Police have arrested three people and are seeking at least one more after a home invasion robbery in a gated community in Orange County.

Lt. Craig Fox says armed robbers invaded a home in the Pelican Ridge development in Newport Beach at around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday.

He says one person in the home was hit on the head or fell down and was injured.

A 911 cell phone call from the back yard led officers to the home. A SWAT team was called and a neighboring home was evacuated.

Fox says three people were taken into custody, including one who was hospitalized for a broken ankle. The injured resident also was taken to a hospital for examination.
