98 Degrees Back Together for Fundraiser

The pop group 98 Degrees (search) is reuniting Saturday to support member Justin Jeffre's (search) run for mayor of Cincinnati.

There may be some singing, but Jeffre says don't call it a concert.

"We may sing an acappella song — possibly two, probably not much more than that," Jeffre said. "We don't want to give people the wrong impression."

Jeffre, along with members Nick and Drew Lachey and Jeff Timmons, plan to attend a rally for Jeffre on Saturday afternoon and appear that night at a nightclub where admission will be a donation of at least $10 to Jeffre's campaign.

Jeffre is one of seven candidates in the nonpartisan Sept. 13 mayoral primary, which will determine the two candidates to be in a November run-off. Jeffre has campaigned actively and has participated in several debates, but believes he has not been taken seriously.

He wants the group to sing their hit "Invisible Man" at his rally "dedicated to some local media outlets that ignored me."

The last time 98 Degrees appeared in concert was at Madison Square Garden (search) the night before the Sept. 11, 2001 (search) terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The group also appeared last December on "Nick and Jessica's Family Christmas," a television program starring member Nick Lachey (search) and his wife, Jessica Simpson (search).
