6.3 Earthquake Rocks Western Mexico

A magnitude-6.3 earthquake shook western Mexico on Saturday. There were no immediate reports of injuries or major damage.

The earthquake was centered in Mexico's Gulf of California, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southwest of Los Mochis and 55 kilometers (35 miles) underground, the U.S. Geological Survey said. It struck at 1:14 local time (1914 GMT).

It was felt in Los Mochis and as far south as the resort of Cabo San Lucas.
