1.2 Tons of Cocaine Seized Off Liberia

A ship containing 1.2 tons of cocaine was seized off of Liberia's coast, the single largest drug seizure in the country's history, maritime officials said Friday.

The ship, named the Blue Atlantic, was spotted on the high seas late Thursday night by a French military vessel, which intercepted the ship and then towed it to the port, Monrovia Port Security Chief Ashford Pearl said.
