Yale safety suspended for one game

Published November 20, 2014

The Ivy League has suspended Yale strong safety Nick Okano from Saturday's game at Lafayette for a targeted hit that resulted in a personal foul against Dartmouth last weekend.

The suspension follows the NCAA's effort to review helmet-to-helmet and targeted hits during games. Okano was not disqualified from the game, which Yale won, 30-0.

Okano, a sophomore from Los Angeles, will be eligible to play in Yale's Oct. 22 game at Penn. He has 15 tackles and one interception this season.
