Xavi to miss Rayo Vallecano clash

Barcelona will be without midfielder Xavi for Sunday's La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano because of a thigh injury.

The 33-year-old had just recently returned from a hamstring problem to play the full 90 minutes in Barcelona's 4-0 Champions League victory over AC Milan on Tuesday, but said he felt discomfort in his leg after the contest.

Tests on Wednesday revealed only minor damage, meaning that the Spain international should miss just a short period of time.

Xavi has netted five goals in 23 league matches this term for Barca, which holds a 13-point lead at the top of La Liga.
