Wyoming beats UC Santa Barbara 68-40; Cowboys off to best start since 1987-88

Luke Martinez scored 17 points Wednesday night and Wyoming beat UC Santa Barbara 68-40, giving the Cowboys their first 7-0 start since the 1987-88 season.

Larry Nance Jr. and Derrious Gilmore scored 12 points apiece for Wyoming, which goes for its eighth win at home Saturday against No. 19 Colorado.

Alan Williams scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds before fouling out to lead the Gauchos (2-4). Kyle Boswell scored 10 points for UCSB.

Wyoming scored the first six points Wednesday night but the Gauchos came back to take a 7-6 lead. The Cowboys scored the next nine points and never trailed after that.
