Two-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is one of the richest, most flamboyant and most well-known drivers in the world.

Would he ever entertain leaving F1 to compete in NASCAR?

In June 2011, Hamilton swapped rides with three-time Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart for a day at Watkins Glen International as part of a promotional event for the drivers' mutual sponsor, Mobil 1.

Now, Hamilton, who is in hot pursuit of his third F1 World Championship, reportedly says he wouldn't rule out eventually trying his hand at NASCAR in an actual event.

"I'd really like to do a NASCAR race one day," the 30-year-old British driver said, according to a story published Monday by the website for well-known British newspaper, the Daily Mirror.

Hamilton, of course, wouldn't be the first F1 driver to tread NASCAR waters. Former World Champion Kimi Raikkonen made a lone appearance in both the NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2011.

Former Sprint Cup driver Juan Pablo Montoya, who now competes in IndyCar, made 94 F1 starts before joining NASCAR's top division full time in 2007.
