With new owners finally in place, Coyotes have an extra dose of excitement on reporting day

Reporting day is always an exciting time in the NHL.

For the Phoenix Coyotes, there was an extra buzz after their new owners addressed the team for the first time.

The Coyotes had gone into the past four seasons with an uncertain future, not sure if an owner would come forward or if the team would remain in the desert.

They finally got a dose of certainly this summer, when George Gosbee, Anthony LeBlanc and the rest of IceArizona purchased the team from the NHL.

The new ownership has ratcheted up excitement for the team and its fans, but also has increased expectations.

Once the underdog without an owner, the Coyotes now have no excuses, on the level ground with the rest of the NHL.
