The Memphis Grizzlies have signed guard Kalin Lucas and center Hassan Whiteside for emergency help with five players out sick with a stomach virus.

The Grizzlies declared Tony Allen, Kosta Koufos, Courtney Lee, Jon Leuer and Beno Udrih out against Toronto on Wednesday night. All five missed the morning shootaround and were not at the arena for the game.

That forced the Grizzlies into the quick signings. The 6-foot-1 Lucas played in eight preseason games for the Grizzlies before being waived in October. He was signed back on Nov. 4 before being waived again Nov. 9. The 7-foot Whiteside played in five preseason games with the Grizzlies.

Both are expected to be available against Toronto.
