Earnest Wilson III not only is Savannah State's new head football coach, he will handle the offensive coordinator duties this season.

Wilson, who replaced Steve Davenport as head coach, announced his coaching staff on Thursday.

Corey Barlow was retained on the staff as the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach.

The other returning coach, David Roberson, will work with the outside linebackers and serve as recruiting coordinator.

Former Savannah State player and coach Michael Wallace (inside linebackers and special teams) is among the new assistants. The others are Willard Scissum (associate head coach/offensive line), Mister Askew (running backs), Jonas Jackson (defensive line/assistant recruiting coordinator), Lawrence Livingston (quarterbacks) and Chris Buckner (wide receivers).

The Tigers, in their third season in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, finished with a 1-10 record last year. They have won two or fewer games in 13 of the last 14 seasons.
