Williams, Livingston sitting out Nets' game against Hawks

Published January 08, 2015

Associated Press

The Brooklyn Nets were without starters Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston for their game against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

Williams was out with what coach Jason Kidd said was right patella tendinitis, while Livingston missed his second straight game because of a sprained right big toe.

Kidd said rookie Jorge Gutierrez and Alan Anderson would start with Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson and Kevin Garnett.

The Nets are likely locked into the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference, making it easier to rest players.

Pero Antic was back from a sore right ankle for the Hawks, but not in the starting lineup.
