William & Mary opener moved up

(STATS) - William & Mary's 2016 season opener at North Carolina State has been moved to Sept. 1 - the Tribe's first Thursday night game in nine years.

The matchup at Carter-Finley Stadium was originally scheduled for Sept. 3.

William Mary last played on a Thursday night in its 2007 season opener against Delaware.

The Tribe will return 14 starters from a squad that shared the CAA Football title and finished 9-4, ranking 12th in the final STATS FCS Top 25.
