Whitaker: Huge underdog Auburn not going to Tuscaloosa afraid or intimidated by No. 2 Alabama

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Auburn defensive tackle Jeff Whitaker says the Tigers aren't scared of No. 2 Alabama.

Whitaker says, "If there's one place that's not intimidated and afraid, it's going to be Auburn."

There's a huge gap between the teams. The Tigers are 31.5-point underdogs for Saturday's game and are winless in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama is playing for a shot at SEC and national titles.

Auburn's rough season has left uncertainty about coach Gene Chizik's job status.

Chizik says Auburn will have to play by far its best game of the season to win. He says an upset "would certainly end your season on a great note."

The Tigers have lost five SEC games by four touchdowns or more the past two seasons, including a 42-14 defeat to Alabama.
