West Brom's Foster facing more time out

Published November 20, 2014

West Bromwich goalkeeper Ben Foster has sustained a setback in his recovery from a groin injury and is now expected to miss additional time.

Foster has sat out West Brom's last two matches after undergoing minor groin surgery but it is now feared he will need an addition operation to repair another part of the groin.

The 29-year-old has already been ruled out of Saturday's match against Sunderland and manager Steve Clarke is still unsure when he will return to action.

"Ben won't be fit this week. We are thinking he's got a similar problem on the other side of the groin now," Clarke said.

"We will get that checked out but he definitely won't be fit for Saturday."

Boaz Myhill has taken Foster's place between the posts over the past two games and is expected to step in once more on Saturday.
