Arsene Wenger was charged with improper conduct by UEFA on Wednesday after his criticism of the match officials in Arsenal's Champions League exit to AC Milan on Tuesday.

Arsenal won the second leg, 3-0, but ultimately fell just short on aggregate, and when Wenger hit out at the referee following the match, UEFA decided to take action.

"UEFA has opened a disciplinary case against Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for improper conduct in relation to last night's UEFA Champions League round of 16 second-leg match against AC Milan in London," said a UEFA statement.

The case will be dealt with by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body on March 29.
