PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem announced on Tuesday the first three events in next year's new Web.com Finals.
These Web.com Finals will determine the final 50 players to earn 2013-2014 PGA Tour cards.
The Hotel Fitness Championship, Chiquita Classic and Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship will join a fourth, yet-to-be-named event, as the Finals. The Hotel Fitness Championship starts the Finals Aug. 29, 2013.
There will be 50 PGA Tour cards at stake in this new format.
The top 75 on the Web.com Tour regular season money list, players who finish 126-200 on the PGA Tour's FedExCup points list at the end of the PGA Tour regular season and any non-members who would have earned enough points to finish 126-200 based on their showings had they been members, will be eligible to play in the Web.com Tour Finals.
The top 25 on the Web.com Tour money list at the end of the regular season will earn cards. The person who finishes No. 1 will get full status for the following year.
The next 25 spots go to players who earn the most money in the four Finals events. The winner of that cumulative money list will also get full status on the PGA Tour.
The 48 remaining players who earn cards will be positioned in the shuffle based on their finish in the Web.com Tour Finals.
The 2013-14 PGA Tour season will start in October, 2013.
"With the introduction of this new qualifying process and four Finals events in 2013, the Web.com Tour is about to embark on the most exciting era in its 23-year history," said Commissioner Finchem. "The Finals will be the culmination of a season-long quest to secure a PGA Tour card and will end the year in a new and exciting fashion. Beginning in 2013, the Web.com Tour will clearly be the pathway to the PGA Tour."
