Cubs pitcher Jon Lester got his first career hit on July 6, 2015 and it was a great day for everyone. Sure, it took him 10 seasons and 67 at-bats -- a major-league record for most at-bats without a hit -- but he wouldn't go nearly as long before getting his second career hit.

65 days to be exact.

During Wednesday's Cubs-Cardinals matchup, Lester picked up his second career hit, a hard-hit single to left off of Carlos Martinez.

Lester's effort got quite a reaction out of his teammates in the dugout, who celebrated with the Cubs head rub. Even the home crowd at Busch Stadium applauded Lester's effort.

He was later driven in by outfielder Dexter Fowler, scoring the third run of his career.

With the hit, Lester raised his career batting average to 0.23 (2-for-88).
