Published January 08, 2015

Associated Press

A Nebraska high school has planned a vigil to remember two basketball coaches killed when a team van collided with a pickup truck, also killing the driver of that vehicle.

The accident happened Friday along Highway 2 in rural central Nebraska just west of Ansley, a small town about 160 miles west of Lincoln.

The State Patrol says the two coaches at Broken Bow High School — 38-year-old Zane Harvey and 24-year-old Anthony Blum were killed. Harvey was driving the van. Also killed was the driver of the truck, 70-year-old Albert Sherbeck.

Eight boys were taken to hospitals. Two were treated and released, and the conditions of the other six weren't disclosed.

The vigil was set for 10 a.m. Grief counselors were to be available at the school Saturday.
