Red Bull Racing confirmed on Tuesday that Sebastian Vettel has extended his multi-year contract with the team until the end of the 2015 season.

Vettel, who is the three-time defending Formula One world champion, won last Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix. The 25-year-old German has won three of the first seven grand prix this season and holds a commanding 36-point lead over Fernando Alonso from Ferrari.

Prior to the start of the 2011 season, Vettel extended his contract with Red Bull through 2014. There had been rumors that Vettel might leave Red Bull and join Ferrari after next season concluded. Those rumors have now been put to rest.

In 2008, Vettel became the youngest driver to win a grand prix in F1, doing so in Italy. He drove for Toro Rosso that year but joined Red Bull in 2009. Vettel was a previous member of Red Bull's junior squad.

During his F1 career, Vettel has won 29 grand prix, which puts him sixth on the all-time winners list. He also has scored 51 podiums and 39 pole positions.
