49ers tight end Vernon Davis’ second Pro Bowl campaign has him reportedly seeking a new contract. With two years left on his six-year, $42 million deal, Davis has already forfeited a large chunk of money in workout bonuses by skipping voluntary OTAs.

Davis, who joined FOX Sports 1’s America’s Pregame, briefly touched on his absence and if he’ll be present at the team's mandatory minicamp beginning on June 17.

“[I’m] not sure at the moment,” Davis said on the impending decision. “I have to get with my agent and talk to him about that. We’re just taking our time with this whole thing. We’re still talking and coming up with the best plan to get things done.”

Earning an average annual salary of $7.35 million, Davis ranks third in the NFL among his position behind Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and Cowboys tight end Jason Witten.

“Everything I do I have the best interest for building my brand,” Davis said. “Everything I do. Every decision I make. Me not being at OTAs is just a decision I came up with. At the end of the day it will all take care of itself.”

After a Pro Bowl campaign in which he hauled in 52 receptions, 850 yards and 13 touchdowns, the 49ers hope that Davis return to the team’s facility sooner rather than later.
