Vegas police probing club patron complaint involving Clippers star Blake Griffin

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Police are investigating a man's allegation that Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin attacked him in a Las Vegas nightclub during the weekend.

Officer Jesse Roybal, a department spokesman, said Wednesday that a battery complaint was filed Sunday stemming from an altercation involving the NBA player.

No arrest was made. Roybal says the case remains open.

Team spokesman Seth Burton says the Clippers are aware of the complaint, but have no immediate comment.

The celebrity news website TMZ quoted a man who said Griffin grabbed his neck, took his cellphone and slapped him after he took a photo early Sunday at Tao nightclub at the Venetian resort.

The Clippers played an exhibition game Saturday in Las Vegas against the Denver Nuggets.
