South African Tyrone Van Aswegen shot a 66 Friday to move to 7-under par and into first place midway through the second round of the Travelers Championship.

The 34-year-old, who is looking for his first PGA Tour win, followed up on his 67 Thursday with a second straight bogey-free round.

He is a stroke ahead of Vaughn Taylor and Andrew Loupe, who tee off during the afternoon rounds.

Jerry Kelly, who was tied for the lead after the first round, remained at 6-under par after shooting an even-par 70.

U.S. Olympians Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed and Matt Kuchar all remain in the hunt. Kuchar shot a 67 to move to 4-under par. Reed, who turned 26 on Friday, also shot 67 and is tied with Watson at 3-under. Watson, the defending champion, shot a 70 on Friday morning.
