Trevis Simpson scored 18 of his 33 points in the second half and North Carolina-Greensboro won back-to-back games for the first time this season by defeating Davidson 77-69 Monday night.

The Spartans (2-15, 2-5 Southern Conference) snapped a 16-game losing streak that dated to last season Jan. 13 at Appalachian State. They followed that by winning their first home game in 10 tries, ending a nine-game losing streak in the series against the Wildcats (8-10, 2-5).

UNC-Greensboro followed a cold-shooting first half (11 of 29 for 37.9 percent) with a torrid-shooting second in which they made 16 of 27 field-goal tries (59.3 percent). Down 35-28 at halftime, the Spartans charged to a 13-point lead with 6:48 left.

J.P. Kuhlman scored 19 points to lead Davidson and Jake Cohen added 16. Aaron Brackett was the Spartans' only other double-figure scorer with 11 points.
