Udinese trailed at halftime, but Antonio Di Natale scored in the first minute of the second half, an own goal from Sebastian Coates put the Italian side in front in the 69th minute, and Pasquale added the winner in the 71st.

Liverpool, which led early through Jonjo Shelvey, capped the scoring outburst when Luis Suarez scored in the 75th, but the Reds were unable to find the goal again as they fell at Anfield.
