UCLA guard Lamb to have knee surgery

Published November 20, 2014

Sports Network

UCLA junior guard Tyler Lamb will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday and is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Lamb played in 33 games -- 32 starts -- last season and averaged 9.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

"I'm very optimistic that Tyler will be back in four weeks," head coach Ben Howland said. "He's going to be very diligent with his rehab, and we are hopeful that this will be a quick and successful procedure. He had similar surgery on this knee the summer before his freshman year, and he quickly recovered from that."

Lamb missed a month of action after undergoing a similar procedure on the same knee on July 2, 2010.
