Friday night's series-opener between the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals has been postponed due to rain.

Kansas City was coming off a three-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers and Will Smith was to take the ball on the mound, while rookie righty Cole De Vries was set to start for the Twins.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday with game one set to get underway at 4:10 p.m. (et).
