Triplett earns first Nationwide win in Tennessee

Kirk Triplett carded a bogey-free, four-under 68 Sunday to collect his first Nationwide Tour title at the News Sentinel Open.

The 49-year-old Triplett finished at 21-under-par 267 at Fox Den Country Club.

Marco Dawson also closed with a 68 to take second place at minus-19.

John Mallinger, who had at least a piece of the lead after the first two rounds, managed a two-under 70 to share third place with Ted Potter, Jr. (69) at 18-under-par 270.

Martin Flores matched the low round of the day with his seven-under 65 to end alongside Paul Claxton (70) and Aaron Goldberg (71) at minus-17.
