Trial Run: Browns holding practice at downtown stadium, a warm-up for exhibition season

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

The Browns are practicing in their downtown stadium in front of thousands of fans eager for the season to start.

First-year coach Rob Chudzinski moved training camp to FirstEnergy Stadium for a workout on Saturday, a break from the routine for his players who are now in their second week of practice. One of Chudzinski's goals is to make the Browns better at home, where they are just 41-71 since 1999.

The Browns are in full pads for the "Family Night" practice, a test run before Cleveland opens the exhibition season on Thursday against St. Louis.

Star running back Trent Richardson is being held out for the second straight day. He was kicked in the shin earlier this week and Chudzinski is being cautious with his top offensive player. Richardson said he should be back at practice Monday.
