Tour: Bubba Watson WDs after death of friend

(SportsNetwork.com) - Masters champion Bubba Watson has withdrawn from this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational due to the death of a childhood friend, the PGA Tour said Wednesday.

Watson, the world No. 2, won his second Masters title last year.

The tour did not release any more information and Watson has not commented online about the death.

The tournament starts Thursday at Bay Hill Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
