Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo left Sunday's game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field with a broken collarbone, the team confirmed.

Romo rolled out to this left and was tackled by linebacker Jordan Hicks, who knocked out the ball which defensive end Fletcher Cox recovered. Romo fell to the ground beneath a scrum of Eagles on his left shoulder. The 35-year-old quarterback exited the game. Sources said Romo feared he had broken his left collarbone, which he had fractured in 2010.

The Cowboys are already hurting on the offense with receiver Dez Bryant out possibly anywhere from six to 12 weeks due to a broken right foot. Losing Romo would mean backup quarterback Brandon Weeden would have to start until Romo returned, if he should. In 2010, when Romo fractured his collarbone on his non-throwing shoulder, he missed the rest of the team's 10 games as the club finished 6-10.

Since 2013, Romo has missed at least one regular season game. The Cowboys are 0-2 in games where Romo does not start in the span.
