Over the last few weeks, an unsubstantiated rumor has made the Internet claiming Tim Tebow had joined on as a featured speaker at the upcoming 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

It's unclear exactly where the rumor began, but the claims have spread to the point that the former Florida Gator and journeyman NFL quarterback was compelled to address the misinformation over social media on Thursday evening.

In a video posted to his social media accounts, Tebow denied the rumor, saying he'd been the Philippines and only recently arrived back in the U.S. to learn someone had threw his name into the political mix.

"Just got back from the Philippines, and I wake up this morning to find out that I'm speaking at the Republican National Convention," Tebow said. "It's amazing how fast rumors spread, and that's exactly what this is: a rumor."

Interestingly, Tebow admits in the video that there is a possibility he might enter politics one day. Just not now.

So no, Tebow will not be stumping and Trumping at the RNC...this time.

Dan is on Twitter. Manning-Tebow 2028 is going to be wild, though.
