Tigers P Norris scratched vs Marlins because of stiff back

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) Detroit scratched starting pitcher Daniel Norris from the game against Miami because of a stiff lower back.

Blaine Hardy will make the start in his place on Saturday.

The start would have been the third of the spring for Norris and his fourth overall appearance.

Norris, a 22-year-old lefty, came to Detroit from Toronto as part of the deal that sent David Price to the Blue Jays. He's 1-0 with a 6.00 ERA for the Tigers in spring play.

He is expected to be a member of the Detroit rotation to open the season.
