Rookie linebacker Jadeveon Clowney will miss his sixth straight game on Monday night when the Houston Texans play the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Texans made Clowney inactive even though the top overall pick in the draft was able to practice this week after injuring his right knee in the season opener against Washington.

Whitney Mercilus will start in Clowney's place as the Texans try to snap a two-game losing streak.

Quarterback Tom Savage, wide receiver DeVier Posey, cornerbacks Jumal Rolle and Darryl Morris, safety Josh Aubrey and offensive tackle Jeff Adams also were inactive for Houston.

Pittsburgh rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier is inactive while he recovers from a sprained right knee.

The Steelers also had quarterback Landry Jones, wide receiver Justin Brown, cornerback Ike Taylor, safety Shamarko Thomas, offensive lineman Chris Hubbard and defensive lineman Steve McLendon on their inactive list.
