Texans reaching for bigger goals after 11-1 start that clinched 2nd straight playoff berth

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

The Houston Texans aren't content with their accomplishments after clinching their second straight playoff berth over the weekend.

They want to build on their franchise-best 11-1 start to improve their playoff position. The Texans are also dealing with mounting injuries in the secondary and to their linebackers.

Coach Gary Kubiak says: "Now every time we step to the plate we can probably gain something else. So we just have to stay focused on that."

The first step is a Monday night matchup at New England. They'll have to face Tom Brady and the Patriots without cornerback Brice McCain, who will be placed on the injured reserve list/designated for return after surgery to repair a broken left foot Monday.
