The Golden Eagles (13-10, 9-5 Ohio Valley Conference) missed five free throws and two field goals in the final 2 minutes, but were able to hold on for the victory thanks to a 50-percent shooting effort from the floor in the second half (12 of 24).

The Governors (15-11, 9-5) were led by Will Triggs, who scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half. Justin Blake added 10 points and was the only other player in double figures for Austin Peay, which shot 17.6 percent from beyond the arc (3 of 17).

Zac Swansey added 11 points and Alfred Jones had 10 for Tennessee Tech, which shot just 12 for 23 from the free-throw line after halftime (52.2 percent).
