As we count down to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif., it's time to look back on the magical and memorable moments in the 49 previous Super Bowls. FOX Sports senior NFL writer Alex Marvez has ranked the 50 greatest moments in the big game's big history, and every weekday from now until Feb. 7 we'll unveil the latest addition to our countdown. Today, we look back at moment No. 6, when the Patriots stunned the football world in Super Bowl XXXVI.

Thirty-one years had passed since a Super Bowl was decided by a game-winning field goal in the final seconds before New England's Adam Vinatieri ended that streak.

The Patriots kicker raised his arms in triumph before his 48-yard kick crossed between the uprights as time expired in the Louisiana Superdome.

The kick was set up by more clutch play by second-year quarterback Tom Brady, who completed five passes to put Vinatieri in position to become a Patriots legend.
