The New York Mets placed David Wright on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a strained right hamstring.

The All-Star third baseman left Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals in the bottom of the 10th inning after coming up lame legging out an infield hit. New York went to win in the 11th on Eric Young's walk-off homer.

Wright is batting .309 with 16 home runs and 54 RBI over 105 games this season.

The Mets recalled outfielder Mike Baxter from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the roster spot.
