Stones joins Everton

Everton announced that it has signed England U-19 defender John Stones from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.

Stones, 18, has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Toffees after passing a medical and agreeing to personal terms.

"I am very excited to be joining Everton," Stones told Everton's official website. "I've been very impressed with everything I have seen at Finch Farm already. Now the hard work begins."
